Our Mission.
Building Pathways Between Communities, Tourism and Recreational Activities
Who We Are..
Here at Silver Lake Recreation Association, we are driven by a single goal; to do our part by working together with the community and the M-DNR to enhance the users experience at Silver Lake Sand Dunes. We strive to build productive relationships and make a positive impact with all of our pursuits.
Where It All Began...
The Silver Lake Recreation Association was formed in May of 2015. The main focus of the SLRA is to work in partnership with the Michigan Department of Natural Resources to expand and improve the Silver Lake Recreational Area, making each visit a safe and fun experience for all.
Unlike the numerous activities and bustling tourism the Summer brings with it each season, the Winters in Silver Lake are very quiet and peaceful, which makes for a very close-knit community of "locals". Everyone you meet is warm and always willing to lend a helping hand whenever needed. Silver Lake gives you the impression of an old fashion "Norman Rockwell'ish" town where it takes the village to raise a family. The SLRA has formed into a community of caregivers for the continual growth, betterment and safety of recreation in the Silver Lake Recreational area.
